### Lasso Guard Sweep
The Lasso Guard is a powerful position in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It involves the use of your legs to control your opponent's arms, creating openings for attacks and sweeps. This particular sweep can disrupt your opponent's base, allowing you to gain a dominant position.

### Prerequisites:
- **Position**: Open Guard
- **Topbotton**: Bottom
- **Japanese Name**: N/A
---
### The Technique:
1. **Establish the Open Guard**
- Start by establishing grips on your opponent’s sleeves.
- Use your feet to keep some distance and control their posture.
2. **Create the Lasso**
- With your right foot, bring your right leg to the inside of your opponent's left arm, hooking your foot around the outside of their arm.
- Pull your shin flush against their arm, making sure to grip tightly with your hand.
3. **Anchor and Control**
- Your left foot stays on your opponent’s right hip to anchor yourself effectively.
- Focus on keeping your right grip tight and your leg active to control the opponent’s upper body.
4. **Off-Balance Your Opponent**
- Push off your left foot to off-balance your opponent, extending their arm away from their body.
- Your knee should be bent slightly to aid in the push-and-pull mechanic.
5. **Execute the Sweep**
- With their base compromised, pull firmly with your right hand while simultaneously steering your right leg down and towards your opponent, sitting them onto the mat.
- As they fall, place your left foot on the mat and use it for support.
6. **Follow Through to a Dominant Position**
- As their balance breaks, drive forward and wrap your right leg over their torso.
- As you sit up, look to come up into a more dominant position such as the side control or mount.
- Make sure to maintain pressure and control as you transition to avoid counter-attacks.
### Tips:
- **Gripping and Control**: Always ensure your grips are strong to exert maximum control.
- **Leverage and Mechanics**: Utilizing the push-pull dynamic effectively will make the sweep smoother.
- **Follow-Up**: Be prepared to secure a dominant position immediately after the sweep to maintain the upper hand.
