### Crucifix Technique in BJJ
The crucifix is a powerful control position in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that can lead to finishing your opponent with submissions or simply controlling their movement effectively. This technique is typically executed from back mount and turtle positions, but can also arise from transitional situations.

### Step-by-Step Instructions
#### From Turtle Position
1. **Establish Control:**
- As your opponent is in a turtle position, position yourself so you're facing the same direction as your opponent. Maintain heavy pressure to keep them controlled.
2. **Secure the Far Arm:**
- Use one hand to open your opponent’s far lapel and the other to weave an arm underneath their arm, gripping your opponent’s collar.
- The other grip secures the wrist of the opponent’s free arm.
3. **Insert Your Leg:**
- On the side where you're gripping their wrist, thread your inside leg through and use your instep to trap and extend their arm.
- This extension immobilizes the arm and initiates the crucifix.
4. **Capture the Second Arm:**
- Use your other leg to trap the opposite arm by hooking under their armpit and draping your leg over it.
5. **Maintaining Control:**
- Settle your weight back to solidify your control, keeping their arms fully extended by using your legs.
6. **Finish with Submission:**
- From this position, options for submission include a rear-naked choke, or transitioning into attacking their neck with submissions like the collar choke.
