### Bicep Slicer
**Introduction:**
The bicep slicer, also known as a bicep crusher or bicep lock, is a compression lock and can be a highly effective submission in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu if performed correctly. The technique targets the muscles of the upper arm and the elbow joint by pressing the forearm against the attacker's leg or arm.
### Possible Positions:
The bicep slicer can be attempted from several positions, including:
- **Closed Guard**
- **Half Guard**
### Step-by-step Instructions: (From Closed Guard)
1. **Initial Position:**
- Begin in the closed guard position with your legs wrapped around your opponent's waist.
- Control your opponent's wrist on one side, aiming to trap their arm.
2. **Breaking Posture:**
- Use your body weight and leverage by pulling their wrist and pushing their elbow to break their posture if necessary.
- Simultaneously angle your body slightly to one side to create space for the next step.
3. **Arm Capture:**
- Insert your opposite hand underneath their trapped arm and secure it in the crook of your elbow, ensuring that their forearm rests on your shoulder.
- Lock your hands together using the gable grip (one palm over the back of the other hand), keeping the trapped arm compressed.
4. **Hip Movement and Leg Positioning:**
- Keep control of your opponent's wrist with your locked grip.
- Swing your legs up by lifting your hips. Shift one leg higher to the outside of their trapped arm, aiming to clear their shoulder.
- Rotate your body further, so your shin is across their bicep.
5. **Creating Pressure:**
- Once your legs are in position, begin to squeeze your knees together around their arm. This augments the compression on their bicep and increases its effectiveness.
- Simultaneously, draw their trapped hand toward their opposite shoulder as if you're executing an Americana lock. This action tightens the hold.
6. **Finish the Submission:**
- To finish, position your foot over their wrist to prevent their arm from escaping.
- Apply pressure gradually by compressing your knees and pulling with your arms until your opponent taps.
### Safety and Precautions:
- Applying gradual pressure is crucial, as this submission can cause intense pain and potential injury.
- Practice with control and awareness of your partner's limits to avoid accidental harm.
